Overview
Combine Cairo and Alexandria in one 2-day journey from Hurghada.
The trip begins with an early departure from your hotel and the drive to Cairo. Your Egyptologist guide will accompany you during the main sightseeing program.
In Cairo, visit the Giza Plateau and see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos, and the Great Sphinx. Continue to the Egyptian Museum to see its collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts before enjoying lunch.
After the Cairo sightseeing program, check into your hotel and have the evening free to rest or explore the city.
The following morning, travel to Alexandria on the Mediterranean coast. Visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, Pompey’s Pillar, Qaitbay Citadel and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, depending on opening times and access conditions.
After lunch in Alexandria, begin the return journey to Hurghada.

DAY 1 — CAIRO
Early Morning – Hotel Pickup
Pickup from your hotel in Hurghada and begin the journey to Cairo in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Giza Pyramids
Meet your Egyptologist guide and visit the Giza Plateau. See the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinos and learn about the history of the ancient necropolis.
Great Sphinx
Continue to the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple area for photographs and an explanation of the site.
Lunch
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in Cairo.
Egyptian Museum
Visit the Egyptian Museum and explore its collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including statues, jewellery, coffins and other archaeological pieces.
Cairo Free Time
After the sightseeing program, check into your hotel. The evening is free for rest or optional exploration.
Overnight in Cairo
Spend the night at your Cairo hotel.
DAY 2 — ALEXANDRIA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before departing for Alexandria.
Journey to Alexandria

Bibliotheca Alexandrina
Visit the exterior of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina and take photographs. Entrance to the library can be subject to opening times and ticket availability.
Lunch in Alexandria
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Return to Hurghada
Begin the journey back to Hurghada after completing the Alexandria program.
Hotel Drop-Off

What should I bring for the Cairo & Alexandria from Hurghada?
Comfortable clothing and closed shoes, sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen, plenty of water, your camera, and a little cash for extras. If your trip includes beach time, bring swimwear and a towel.
When is the best time or season to do this trip?
Sharm El Sheikh enjoys sunshine almost all year, so this trip runs every season. Winter (November–March) is pleasantly warm at around 20–24°C and less crowded; summer is hotter but the Red Sea stays warm and swimmable. For water trips a light wetsuit keeps you comfortable in the cooler months.
